The attorney, a native of Savin Hill, had been a key strategist in local and state politics for three decades. His many distinguished clients included former state representative Brian Wallace and current U.S. Representative Stephen F. Lynch. He was also an election commissioner for former mayor Kevin White.
Representative Lynch released a statement saying he and his family were “heartbroken” over the loss, and he reflected on the importance of the attorney’s advice and guidance over the years. He also expressed his condolences to the attorney’s family.
Because the investigation is ongoing, there is no determination regarding who was at fault for the accident. It could be ruled as a tragic accident with no one cited. However, if the 33-year-old driver is found to have caused the accident, then the attorney’s family would be within their rights to seek compensation for damages via a wrongful death claim. Such compensation could be awarded for pain and suffering, loss of companionship, medical and funeral expenses as well as potential lost wages.
